The Benefits and Limitations of Teaching English for Specific Purposes Online and Face-To-Face: Sport and Health Sciences Students’ Perspectives

The restrictions imposed to limit the spread of COVID-19 resulted in switch from in-person online teaching, including teaching foreign languages 2020-2022. This study uses feedback students who have studied English for Specific Purposes (ESP) virtual and classroom settings. aim is investigate benefits limitations each approach language acquisition ESP sport health sciences. A questionnaire ascertain students’ experiences was distributed 60 sciences at Latvian Academy Sport Education. It found that face-to-face studies tended facilitate different skills. In questionnaire, reported consistent progress vocabulary reading texts related their area during both studies, but less improvement areas grammar speaking Overall, synchronous live classes would steady continuous development all skills if supplemented by support personnel, regular offline meetings or classes, access specially designed resources.
